1-2-1Yogatherapy

The science of yoga, mindfulness and  physiotherapy combined

The Art of Being - A kick start to vibrant health and wellbeing.

Venue : Savista Retreat , Jaipur , India

Date : March 2016

These 2 five day retreats offer the opportunity to pause, reflect, recharge and reinvigorate.

Stepping off the merry go round for a few days is so important in giving yourself time to reevaluate as to where you are at now; and where you are heading too, and is the your journey you are on, in alignment with your true self?

We live in a world where knowledge is king, but knowledge of the external world not our internal world. Our mind will drive us in a direction where it wants to be. Its continually comparing, judging and planning. But its reality is not necessarily the reality we face.

The course is based upon developing and cultivating a greater sense of inner awareness and calm, through specific mindfulness skills, breathing exercises, gentle yoga postures and sequences. From this space of increased clarity and stillness you will engage your thinking brain to develop your life map, reflecting your core values, to give purpose, meaning and a greater sense of direction.

So if you want to feel more energised, experience a greater sense of wellbeing, inner stillness and calm, sleep better, worry less, become more emotionally balanced, be more flexible in mind and body, establish and nurture a greater sense of connectedness with yourself and those close to you, and rediscover a sense of purpose and direction then this an opportunity not to be missed.

How the course is structured over the two days :-

Yoga and Awareness

This element on the workshop looks at relatively simple and gentle yoga postures and sequences, which can be adapted to suit all those taking part, so no previous yoga experience is required. The key part to this section of the course is developing a bodily awareness , helping to free up and release tight joints and muscles.

Breath work

The breath is the bridge between mind and body, and our inner and outer worlds. It is the cornerstone of both mindfulness and Yoga. It is something that just happens. Learning to tune into the rhythm and nature of your breath gives insight into the workings of both your mind and body. Having an understanding of the anatomy and workings of our breathing at both a cognitive and experiential level, will be fundamental in your journey of self knowledge and exploration.

Mindfulness and Awareness.

Whilst the yoga will increase bodily awareness, mindfulness will shed light on the workings of our mind, and in particular how some habitual thoughts pattern can be unhelpful and undermine our sense of wellbeing.

‘The goal of mindfulness is to maintain awareness moment by moment, disengaging oneself from strong attachment to beliefs, thoughts, or emotions, thereby developing a greater sense of emotional balance and well-being.' Ludwig and Jon Kabat-Zinn.

Engaging with core values and developing a life map

Through mindfulness you will learn how the mind drives us in directions that are not congruent with our true selves. Reconnecting with our core values in the following domains will help to reestablish a path towards vibrant wellbeing:-

Leisure/fun activities

Relationships

Work/education

Health and wellbeing

Planning and setting life goals from a place of openheartedness and acceptance, fostered through mindfulness, will help reenergise and set free your life-force and passion.
